The Living Globes Society is a US-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating
and marketing real-time LED globes that display real-time images of Earth. We are seeking
passionate volunteers to help bring this groundbreaking project to life.

**** TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT ADVISOR

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify high-quality, small LED globes suitable for displaying real-time images.
  • Identify sources of near-live (10 minutes old or less) images of as large parts of the Earth as possible – both for free and paid – and identify the conditions and the technical characteristics of the images.
  • Assist in developing a system to composite satellite images into seamless, near-real-time visuals for presentation on spherical displays.
  • Work with satellite imagery APIs and data processing tools to optimize display quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to integrate the system with the LED globes.
  • Qualifications:

  • Background in computer science, data processing, or engineering.
  • Experience working with satellite imagery or data visualization is a plus.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Passion for space, Earth sciences, and innovative technology. display quality.

    **** FUNDRAISING AND GRANT WRITING

    Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and donations.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and fundraising campaigns.
  • Engage with donors and organizations to build strong financial support.
  • Assist in planning and executing crowdfunding initiatives..
  • Qualifications:

  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or non-profit development.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to research and identify funding sources effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for environmental awareness and technology-driven education.

    **** MARKETING AND OUTREACH

    Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the project.
  • Manage social media accounts and create engaging content.
  • Connect with potential partners, educators, institutions and influencers to expand awareness.
  • Organize community events and outreach initiatives to showcase the project.
  • Qualifications:

  • Background in marketing, communications, or social media management.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for public engagement.
  • Experience in digital marketing, content creation, or branding is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for networking and outreach.

    **** SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

    Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Design, write, and schedule engaging posts across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and others).
  • Campaign Management: Develop and execute social media campaigns aligned with our goals—e.g., promoting our free eBook, highlighting the Living Globes project, or driving email sign-ups.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and nurture a sense of community.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track engagement, reach, and other metrics to evaluate and improve performance.
  • Trend Watching: Stay informed on social media trends, hashtags, and platform updates to keep our content fresh and relevant.
  • Qualifications:

  • Passion for environmental advocacy, education, or spiritual evolution.
  • Experience managing social media for organizations, brands, or personal projects.
  • Strong writing and visual storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with social media tools like Canva, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Meta Business Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple platforms.

    **** PODCAST SCHEDULER

    Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop lists of existing podcasts talking about the Earth in some fashion.
  • Email or phone each podcast to convince them to have President Sten Linnander on as a guest.
  • Schedule Sten’s podcast appearances and give him background data on the podcasts so he is prepared.
  • Follow up with the podcast interviewer to get his/her comments about Sten’s performance to post on our website.
  • Qualifications:

  • Background in marketing, communications, or social media management.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for public engagement.
  • Experience in digital marketing, content creation, or branding is a plus.
  • Fearlessness in talking with famous people.
